Everise Food Court (besides Parkland)

I seldom come here for lunch, so one day, I take the opportunity and try some of the Foochow food here. I can't remember the exact name of the food that I order (i think is called the red date xxx).

Since small, I like chicken, cooked in this red sauce. It's not all the time that I get to eat this. The stall owner says, another words for this is "Foochow's Kachang Ma". Well, the normal types of Kachang Ma is my enemy but this one is really taking me away.

I'll definitely comes back here for more red dates...

Apart from that, my dad ordered the fish cooked in black beans sauce (i think) ... It looks yummy too.

Yeap, "ang cho bak". Foochow specialty. i had it during my confinement too. and guess what! I tasted it for first time, and I never knew it was that good. Thanks to my mother-in-law who cooked it for me!! Now I am going for "red dates meat/chix" anytime! heheh!

Rose, yeah .. i really love it .. each time i pass by fast food and if they have this on the tray, i sure gonna go for the fast food .. no one know how to cook this .. sob sob sob ...

Last Sunday is BF day of signing the "Book of Life" (I think that's what they call it). From the time table list, it is known as the "First Confession" day... Well, I translate directly the meaning since it's in BM. Hehehe... We arrived there at around 9am. Not many people there that time but there are people setting up stall to sell some food after the church service. BF told me that he had not had any breakfast yet and I nag him. Whahahaha! I had to sit separately from BF and dad since I'm not the godfather. Church service starts at 9.30pm. While waiting for the mass, I took pictures all around the church . Are they dreaming?? I took some picture when they signed the book. Well, I'm the only photographer that day. One thing different between St. Mark and my church is that during this kind of occasion is that in my church, there will be more than 1 photographers going all round taking photos or filming the whole occasion. Cozy Cafe, Jalan Song

Feeling hungry for something different on lunch time? Another place you can think of will be this restaurant - The Cozy Cafe. It is opposite One TJ with a black signboard. The environment is indeed cozy and warmth. Taste wise not bad but I can say that the service is a little weird. We order tea and they only permitted to give us 2 cup. Hhmmmm, I thought that we can just ask them to refill the pot wit hot water and share the tea amongst us. Guess this is how they earn more - limiting the number of sharing per tea pot. Oh well, got to just follow their rules. And this is what we ordered - sharing portion between a few of us. After all, ladies are small eaters. 'Ma Li Chai'/'Mani Chai', also known as Cangkuk Manis

While googling for news about 'malichai', it turns out that I hardly get anything that I am looking for, so this triggers me to write something about this local vegetables that I believe, can only be found in Sarawak. 'Mali chai' is easily planted and grow quite fast as well. In fact, this is the only vegetables that I planted and it didn't fail on me! With its stick, just plant it on the ground and leave the rain and sun to takes care of the rest. Hahaha... 'Mali chai' is a word in hokkien that mostly use in Kuching. 'Chai' means vegetables. Hakka people called it 'su choi'. Well, this vege doesn't seems to have an English name. If we are to translate from BM to English, it definitely sounds weird - Sweet Hook. I think anyone who hear 'sweet hook' will not be keen to try it out.. So, how do 'mali chai' looks like? I've snap the photos of this vegetables at my garden.
