Beggar on the Street

Have anyone ever wonder why there are people out there, who beg for money? In my opinion, it is either they are either way to lazy to work for money or they are just giving excuses to themselves.

Last weekend, while 'jalan-jalan cari makan' around Kuching area, I saw this couple wearing a super black specs, begging for money. The guy is playing violin while the lady plays God knows what instrument (I forgot what it calls) that is. My first impression is "Are they really blind?".
Then second question pops up my mind is that if they are blind, how do they got there? There must be someone who send them. So, if there's someone who send them there, it means they are not alone. Then why do they beg for money if they have someone who is physically fit? I thought the blind association do teach some skills to them rather than sitting by the roadside begging for money?

Personally, I won't donate to them. Being blind doesn't give them the right to beg for money. I used to see a guy without hand or leg at Saberkas, selling something for money. Now, this is the way to stay on, not just holding a music instrument and play whatsoever song and wait for money to drop down. Why can't this two doing something useful instead? At the end of the day, I didn't donate even 10 cents.

Not only that, I don't even know what song both of them are playing. It's like the lady is playing jingle bells and the guy is playing "We wish you a Merry Christmas". Two different song, two instrument and they played it at the same time. Musics that reaches my brain, I give it name 'rojak'. Also, they lady is only playing 'jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle al the way". And it repeats and repeat and repeat.

I'm not sure about you but for me, this is unacceptable. Is there anyone that we can contact to ask about this? Does the blind association allows the member to beg for money? Why isn't there any rules to help them?

A lot of beggars are fake. I've seen one begging in Kuching, he looked blind and walked with a limp. One day, by chance, I saw him again somewhere away from the city, enjoying a mug of beer and dancing with his equally drunk friends.

Agree.. that is why I never bother to give even 10 cents ... Some of them is just looking for an easy money ..
