Dinner at Swan Teem, RH Plaza

In celebrating my promotions, I treat my family and BF for a chinese dinner. My first intention is to go to Pai Jia Le but they seems to be booked that day. I should have called and ask before going there. Since it's raining, we walked around to see if there's any other nice restaurant.
I thought of going to Ah Tou's but it is way too far (raining some more). So, we just had our dinner at Swan teem.


This is actually a steamboat restaurant but they do cook for those who wants. The serves us a plate of keropok once we sat on the table. It's not free though - RM2.

Keropok - RM2 per plate

We ordered:
1. Butter prawns (this is the first dish I mention when the waitress ask what we want to eat)
2. Garlic steam fish
3. Deer meat (my dad is bored with chicken).
4. Mix veggies

We didn't order any soup though. The guys say the food should be enough. As I've make the waitress waiting for a long time, I just order Kopi-O, same as the guys.

The first dish that arrive is my favourite butter prawns. Without waiting for them, I grab one and start eating my prawn. Hey, I'm so addicted to prawn that I ever dreamt being chased by the prawns as I ate them all them time!

The rest of the dish came almost at the same time. My focus is veggies and prawn. Hahaha....

Overall, the food is ok but not extremely delicious. A little bit dissapointed with the butter prawn. We finish eating at around 6.30pm (my dad use to eat at 5.30pm). Since the night is still young, we decide to drop by the Cash Sweep for the live draw. Well, I didn't win anything.

Last Sunday is BF day of signing the "Book of Life" (I think that's what they call it). From the time table list, it is known as the "First Confession" day... Well, I translate directly the meaning since it's in BM. Hehehe... We arrived there at around 9am. Not many people there that time but there are people setting up stall to sell some food after the church service. BF told me that he had not had any breakfast yet and I nag him. Whahahaha! I had to sit separately from BF and dad since I'm not the godfather. Church service starts at 9.30pm. While waiting for the mass, I took pictures all around the church . Are they dreaming?? I took some picture when they signed the book. Well, I'm the only photographer that day. One thing different between St. Mark and my church is that during this kind of occasion is that in my church, there will be more than 1 photographers going all round taking photos or filming the whole occasion. Cozy Cafe, Jalan Song

Feeling hungry for something different on lunch time? Another place you can think of will be this restaurant - The Cozy Cafe. It is opposite One TJ with a black signboard. The environment is indeed cozy and warmth. Taste wise not bad but I can say that the service is a little weird. We order tea and they only permitted to give us 2 cup. Hhmmmm, I thought that we can just ask them to refill the pot wit hot water and share the tea amongst us. Guess this is how they earn more - limiting the number of sharing per tea pot. Oh well, got to just follow their rules. And this is what we ordered - sharing portion between a few of us. After all, ladies are small eaters. 'Ma Li Chai'/'Mani Chai', also known as Cangkuk Manis

While googling for news about 'malichai', it turns out that I hardly get anything that I am looking for, so this triggers me to write something about this local vegetables that I believe, can only be found in Sarawak. 'Mali chai' is easily planted and grow quite fast as well. In fact, this is the only vegetables that I planted and it didn't fail on me! With its stick, just plant it on the ground and leave the rain and sun to takes care of the rest. Hahaha... 'Mali chai' is a word in hokkien that mostly use in Kuching. 'Chai' means vegetables. Hakka people called it 'su choi'. Well, this vege doesn't seems to have an English name. If we are to translate from BM to English, it definitely sounds weird - Sweet Hook. I think anyone who hear 'sweet hook' will not be keen to try it out.. So, how do 'mali chai' looks like? I've snap the photos of this vegetables at my garden.
