Bombay Spices

Last weekend, I went to a coffee shop at 4th mile (besides Ambank). The coffee shop are called "Bombay Spices". I think it is own by an Indian Muslim, not so sure.
Anyway, I find that this coffee shop has their unique way of presenting their menu. All the menus are listed on top of the wall. For those with eye sight problem, this could irritates them. Haha...


I ordered roti canai kosong(for myself), roti canai telur (for my dad), roti tisu (share) and rojak. For drinks, I ordered 'kopi peng' and my dad ordered 'kopi-o'.

The curry is marvelous!! Other places curry is so lousy and some only have the smells of curry but no taste at all.

The price is really cheap and the place is very clean. For those who loves spicy stuff, I would really recommend you come and try it.

Bombay Spices, Bombay Masala. I wonder are they the same?? Yes, it is owned by an Indian owner. I never been there yet, but there is a lot opening in Kuching now. I love Mamak food.

Not sure if they are they same .. But i loves the Indian food here ... the ppl are friendly and the food is nice.. just ... its high cals

While googling for news about 'malichai', it turns out that I hardly get anything that I am looking for, so this triggers me to write something about this local vegetables that I believe, can only be found in Sarawak. 'Mali chai' is easily planted and grow quite fast as well. In fact, this is the only vegetables that I planted and it didn't fail on me! With its stick, just plant it on the ground and leave the rain and sun to takes care of the rest. Hahaha... 'Mali chai' is a word in hokkien that mostly use in Kuching. 'Chai' means vegetables. Hakka people called it 'su choi'. Well, this vege doesn't seems to have an English name. If we are to translate from BM to English, it definitely sounds weird - Sweet Hook. Hong Kong Bun - Xiao Ba Wang

Have anyone been to this place? I actually asked SK to help in translating them into English. According to her 'xiao' refers to small while 'ba wang' is gangster. Hhmmmm.... It is located right opposite the Stutong Market. BF say this is second branch. For me, this is the first time I saw it. This is a good place for 'pao' lovers to have their breakfast. BF and I went there once for breakfast since it's on the way to our workplace. First impression - I like it here. Not much traffics and the place is clean. Second impression - what happen to the day dreaming waitresses?? I want to take my order! Third impression - do they know that we are waiting? The food is nice. For BF, it is superb. He has been eating 'pao' for breakfast for almost everyday. Well maybe like what he say, for me everything is the same. But I must say the dim sum is nice. Consumer’s Right – Check Label Before Purchase!

Last Wednesday (22nd July 2009), I went to one of the supermarket that is on the way back to my home. Well, I am quite reluctant to say which one. I believe picture speaks louder than words. I normally would not put up the date I went to certain places, but this time, the date is extremely important! One of the reasons that I went there is because of the pizza bread. Yeah, I am quite fond of their pizza bread as I think that the taste is quite unique and nice. I bought 1 piece for RM2.80. For me, once a while spending money on foods is good as it is a way to pamper ourselves. So, with my pizza bread, I walked around the supermarket and ate it. Some of the workers there keep looking at me but I don’t care. If I am not allow to eat and walk, they should just come and tell me instead of looking at me.
