Friendship Garden - Once Known to Have Fishes



Actually, I've been longing to write about this since long time ago but always forgotten. A while ago, I went to friendship garden to take pictures and walking round the garden. They have a lot of nice flowers.....

Historical information about Kuching is also decorated around the foot path...


It is a nice place for people to go there for a walk, jogging and dating too. At night, there are group of eldest dancing and practicing "Tai Chi". I ever went there for jogging and dating. Hahaha..


Friendship Garden is a very nice place for tourist to pay a visit too. It is a place created based on the Chinese cultures. I likes to have a walk there and just sitting down looking at the fishes. The biggest attraction that this garden have is the ponds that are full with fishes. But now, all the fishes is dead.

A lot, right?? Now, it's just a history.. Sob sob sob ....

While googling for news about 'malichai', it turns out that I hardly get anything that I am looking for, so this triggers me to write something about this local vegetables that I believe, can only be found in Sarawak. 'Mali chai' is easily planted and grow quite fast as well. In fact, this is the only vegetables that I planted and it didn't fail on me! With its stick, just plant it on the ground and leave the rain and sun to takes care of the rest. Hahaha... 'Mali chai' is a word in hokkien that mostly use in Kuching. 'Chai' means vegetables. Hakka people called it 'su choi'. Well, this vege doesn't seems to have an English name. If we are to translate from BM to English, it definitely sounds weird - Sweet Hook. I think anyone who hear 'sweet hook' will not be keen to try it out.. So, how do 'mali chai' looks like? I've snap the photos of this vegetables at my garden. Consumer’s Right – Check Label Before Purchase!

Last Wednesday (22nd July 2009), I went to one of the supermarket that is on the way back to my home. Well, I am quite reluctant to say which one. I believe picture speaks louder than words. I normally would not put up the date I went to certain places, but this time, the date is extremely important! One of the reasons that I went there is because of the pizza bread. Yeah, I am quite fond of their pizza bread as I think that the taste is quite unique and nice. I bought 1 piece for RM2.80. For me, once a while spending money on foods is good as it is a way to pamper ourselves. So, with my pizza bread, I walked around the supermarket and ate it. Some of the workers there keep looking at me but I don’t care. If I am not allow to eat and walk, they should just come and tell me instead of looking at me. Hong Kong Bun - Xiao Ba Wang

Have anyone been to this place? I actually asked SK to help in translating them into English. According to her 'xiao' refers to small while 'ba wang' is gangster. Hhmmmm.... It is located right opposite the Stutong Market. BF say this is second branch. For me, this is the first time I saw it. This is a good place for 'pao' lovers to have their breakfast. BF and I went there once for breakfast since it's on the way to our workplace. First impression - I like it here. Not much traffics and the place is clean. Second impression - what happen to the day dreaming waitresses?? I want to take my order! Third impression - do they know that we are waiting? The food is nice. For BF, it is superb. He has been eating 'pao' for breakfast for almost everyday. Well maybe like what he say, for me everything is the same. But I must say the dim sum is nice.
