Cozy Cafe, Jalan Song

Image
Feeling hungry for something different on lunch time? Another place you can think of will be this restaurant - The Cozy Cafe. It is opposite One TJ with a black signboard. The environment is indeed cozy and warmth. Taste wise not bad but I can say that the service is a little weird. We order tea and they only permitted to give us 2 cup. Hhmmmm, I thought that we can just ask them to refill the pot wit hot water and share the tea amongst us. Guess this is how they earn more - limiting the number of sharing per tea pot. Oh well, got to just follow their rules. And this is what we ordered - sharing portion between a few of us. After all, ladies are small eaters. Mushroom soup with garlic bread Fish and chips Spaghetti Carbonara with hot dogs  Enjoy your lunch yea...

One Fine Girls' Outing

Image
Yes, I'm pregnant and still it doesn't stop me from having my girl's night out. Hehehe... If you're a mum and you hardly have time for yourself, I bet, you do agree with me that, once a while, we too, needed some time out for ourselves. Time out is use to re-energize ourselves and refresh us physically and mentally. So, the ladies and me had decided to have some our me-time by having a decent dinner without the husband and kids. For me, I would so much appreciate this dining because I do not have to watch out for my daughter running around and talking non stop. We picked Oinks as our meet up area. For those who don't know where, it is near Jalan Song. Oinks is now open during lunch hour. So, if you're thinking of some western food for lunch, you can consider Oinks as one of your choice too. Bacon Salad - a must have if you come to Oink Caesar salad Spaghetti Carbonara Bon appetite!

Logos Hope

Image
Last month, the biggest book ship is here. Anyone missed out the opportunity to go and shows your support for all the volunteers? If I'm not mistaken, previously the book ship are called Doulos. At that time, I did not manage to get a chance to visit Doulos. After the ship change to Logos Hope, it appears that I always miss the opportunity. This year, I try to make an effort of visitin them! Yeah... They berth at the Pending port in early April. As my office is quite near with the port, I use the opportunity of my lunch hour to pay a visit to them. Entrance fee is RM1 which I think is cheap. As the crew are basically a volunteer from all across the country, they do not have much income. The money collected are use to support the crews and maintenance of the ship. I like being on board the ship! If I'm still young, I would wish to be one of the volunteers, travelling all around the world in ship. I bet, it must be the most thrilling experience one could have. ...

Kylee Turns One

Image
My little angel turn 1 year old!! Wow, how time flies. It's like just yesterday that I've delivered a baby and now, she is already one. Since this is our first child, we decided to celebrate her turning one. Being the lazy us, we didn't think much of the location. Hubby likes the food at Pai Jia Le and since they have a private room for functions, we decided to hold a simple party for her. As I'm cutting cost, I decided to DIY the backdrop. It's all mummy's hard work.. Well of course, mummy and her 'ji mui'... As for the cake, I ordered one from TAKA and another one was a gift from my lovely 'ji mui'. And also, the cute little cup cake. As I seldom bring her out where there's many people around, she got freak out when everyone wants to carry her. Crying each time someone comes near. Haaaihzzzzz .. But when comes to presents, I can see, she is the happiest girl that night. Chak!! Soon to be F1 model? Haha ....

The Flavours

On my birthday, my boss brought us to some simple lunch at The Flavours, Jalan Song. I think this is the second time that I come here. This place is known with its curry fish head. I've tasted it and its nice. But the one that I love most would be the wasabi prawn. The taste is superb. The Curry Fish Head In Malay, this is call "Peria"  My favourite, salad wasabi prawn Bon Appetite!

New Dining Place - Overseas Restaurant

Image
During one of our gathering, my colleague decided to pay a visit to the new dining place in town - Ocerseas Restaurant. The restaurant is located near the airport and looks very eastern-western style. We spoke a while with the supervisor there. She told us that the cook is not local people but from China. All the dishes served are menus which is the combination of Kuching-China style. Meaning, food that can be found in Kuching and cook in style with China people. Lol !! She recommended us with the chicken cooked in steam bamboo. Sound like our 'ayam pansuh' but its not. Anyway, here's the mouth watering food that we ordered... Not sure about the price though .. But then, taste wise, not bad. I would come here again when there's chance. Hehehe...

Manhattan Fish Market

Image
With little one, it is hard to pick where I want to go for dinner. Its because, we need to think of the rainy and hot sunny day. For Christmas celebration, I decided to go to The Spring and simply dine at one of the restaurant in there. Personally, I prefer to bring LO to The Spring. Its because The Spring is less noisy compare to other shopping mall. Since we never been to Manhattan Fish Market, we decided to have our Christmas dinner here. Here's what we order... Overall, I dont't really like the food. It doesn't feel special at all. The service is not bad but then they can do better. Price wise is quite expensive. There's too much taxes and additional charges apart from the food. I

Go Green with Plantation

Image
Recently I had a little project with hubby in turning our little garden into some flowery and organic garden. Oh well, it's a start for some organic fruits. Our dogs is helping us with the fertilizers (of course, this means her pee and poo, what do you think? Haha!) Some of the plants is still small and not very eye catching, so I didn't take picture of it. I have in my garden - kedondong, papaya, chillies, guava and some local vegetables. Papayas and kedondong Chillies For some eye catching, I planted some cactus too. It's just an old time hobbies that I have when I'm a kid. I have not have much time now to take care of it. Hope the cactus will be alright. More chillies at the upper picture and my little flower garden Ok, I know, my flower look hurt.. My lovely dog help to plant her nail onto it So, what did you plant in your garden?

30th Birthday

Image
Old at age, young in the heart! I’m going to maintain this spirits as long as I can and never admit I’m old. Hehehe … This year celebration is fairly simple. Just had some cakes and dinner at Hijau, BDC. Nothing fancy and with me, 8 th months and exploding anytime, I rather keep it simple. I think I’m going to gain weight with excessive eating.. hhmmmmm.. Ikan Bakar .... too little sambal  RM6 with rice. This portion enough for 4 people O Jien - the wet type. I don't really enjoy it Birthday ice cream cake from HB Ice cream  Red Velvet Cake from Lovely Jess

Crystal Restaurant

Previously, this restaurant is known as Dong Guan. Heard that they have change the name, not sure if the owner changed too. I attended my cousin’s wedding on my birthday. Yeah, what a good coincidence with so many relatives celebrating together. Haha! Here’s the food that we have for the night. I like the cold dish the most! My drinks - warm plain water.. lol  The first dish - nice !! Shark fin soup - a lot of crab meat inside. Pork ribs Getting bored waiting for next meal.. here's what I do..  Overall, the food is not so bad. But portion wise, I would say it’s too little. There’s only 7 people on my table but yet, we manage to finish all the food.
