Sushi King in Kuching, Sarawak

With the new Sushi King in Kuching, I guess other japanese food center will have huge struggle for business. As one of the sushi fan, I went there to have a try.
Start with the green tea, at first I thought "No sugar, yuck".. Hahaha.. Some more, before this, I ever order japanese green tea in other japanese shop and it taste so "Yuck!!". But, well, one try lead to another. Niceeee.. It still taste nice without sugar, very fresh smell and not at bad as the previous green tea I ever had.
Ok. I ate 4 types of sushi. But... Can't remember all of the sushi name. At first, I thought of taking the photos of the sushi.. But, totally forgotten when I saw food in front of me. Hahaha .. Only manage to take an empty plate photo... Sob Sob Sob..


Once of the sushi are called "Unagi Slice Temaki". Another one are covered with salmon on top. Yummy!!!! The other are eggs + some mayonise + whatever ingredient.. Hahaha ... My brother take another type of sushi. That one, I don't like. The fish on top taste like uncook "ikan masin".... Sushi king is smart. The use the plate color to determine the price of the sushi. I only remember purple color plate means RM6. Blue color is RM2. Hehehehe ....

Ok, enought about sushi. My boyfriend ordered saba soba (or vice versa, forgotten which name comes first, hahaha). The soup taste nice. I like the soup but the mee, ok only. I prefer kolo mee. Hahaha....My boyfriend remember to take one snap of the mee photo (but half eaten). Hehehe ....

Well, I forgot to write about the Sushi King member card. I thought of apply but with RM15 member fees,.. errmmm... the only thing that attract me is the glass.

Is it worth to get the card for the glass??

wah! kch so happening ya!!! i love japan food..tat why working at japan company, alwys got free food if my boss go outstation...

I think RM15 is ok la, if u alwys go report there, but what the benefit being the member?

Errrm, dont think I'll go there all the time. I only attracted to the glass bo .. the member card gives 10% discount for the food... hehehehe..

but i like the cup!!!

Last Sunday is BF day of signing the "Book of Life" (I think that's what they call it). From the time table list, it is known as the "First Confession" day... Well, I translate directly the meaning since it's in BM. Hehehe... We arrived there at around 9am. Not many people there that time but there are people setting up stall to sell some food after the church service. BF told me that he had not had any breakfast yet and I nag him. Whahahaha! Cozy Cafe, Jalan Song

Feeling hungry for something different on lunch time? Another place you can think of will be this restaurant - The Cozy Cafe. It is opposite One TJ with a black signboard. The environment is indeed cozy and warmth. Taste wise not bad but I can say that the service is a little weird. We order tea and they only permitted to give us 2 cup. Hhmmmm, I thought that we can just ask them to refill the pot wit hot water and share the tea amongst us. Guess this is how they earn more - limiting the number of sharing per tea pot. Oh well, got to just follow their rules. And this is what we ordered - sharing portion between a few of us. After all, ladies are small eaters. 'Ma Li Chai'/'Mani Chai', also known as Cangkuk Manis

While googling for news about 'malichai', it turns out that I hardly get anything that I am looking for, so this triggers me to write something about this local vegetables that I believe, can only be found in Sarawak. 'Mali chai' is easily planted and grow quite fast as well. In fact, this is the only vegetables that I planted and it didn't fail on me! With its stick, just plant it on the ground and leave the rain and sun to takes care of the rest. Hahaha... 'Mali chai' is a word in hokkien that mostly use in Kuching. 'Chai' means vegetables. Hakka people called it 'su choi'. Well, this vege doesn't seems to have an English name. If we are to translate from BM to English, it definitely sounds weird - Sweet Hook. I think anyone who hear 'sweet hook' will not be keen to try it out.. So, how do 'mali chai' looks like? I've snap the photos of this vegetables at my garden.
